About Cathy




Cathy Pollock completed her certification by the American Society for the Alexander Technique from the Pacific Institute for the Alexander Technique in Chico, California in 1994. Cathy's university education includes a B.S. in Environmental Studies and range management, and an Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology. She has taken numerous classes in anatomy, physiology, physics, and kinesiology. She has taught the Alexander Technique privately and with groups for the past sixteen years and has presented to hospitals, clinics, schools, performing arts groups, and athletic clubs. Cathy is an adjunct instructor in the Actor Training Program at the University of Utah's theatre department.

Locally, Cathy has presented to the University of Utah Physical Therapy, Music, Modern Dance, and Theater Departments, ARUP Labs Fitness Program, The Spine Clinic, Neo-natal Intensive Care Unit, the Utah Symphony, the Utah Opera Company, the National Choral Director's Association, the National Association of Teachers of Singing, Waterford School ,and Judge Memorial High School. She draws from her interests in the martial arts, yoga, music, mountain biking, climbing, and skiing to create a teaching atmosphere that is both fun and practical. Cathy is devoted to empowering her students towards self-care.
