What is the Alexander
Technique? - General Information |
|
|
|
The Alexander
Technique is a way of integrating the activities of mind and body
to re-discover our innate sense of coordination (movement, posture,
breathing, and muscle tone). Alexander referred to this coordination
as the use of the self. He realized that how we think about our activities
affects the way in which we carry them out, and also that our habits
shape the way we think and feel about ourselves. The Alexander Technique
is about learning to learn, learning to change habits, and learning
to do things with more ease and efficiency.
